TG18-BRS-581SM
Riding the Barrel Rolls

GENERAL COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course starts the same as the True Grit 50. You will travel down Gates lane in the last wave of riders and head out to the desert via Stucki Springs Road. VERY IMPORTANT !!! at mile 2.4 you will head straight, drop into the wash and climb back out of the basin to the west ( do not follow the 50-mile course markings).  At the top of the rocky ridge ( mile 2.6), you will rejoin the 50/100-mile course and head toward the Rim Runner Loops.

This is a short loop ( only 1.2 miles) with a short lolly pop spur with two-way traffic. Stay LEFT here so that traffic does not cross as you drop back into Cove Wash just a few 100 feet from the spot you crossed earlier. The trail takes a steep climb again out to your first Feed Zone at mile 5.6.

You will pass over the timing map after the feed zone and do 1 loop on the Barrel Rolls trail. There will be an last opportunity to grab a second snack before heading downhill for the 3 mile sprint to the finish.
